Rutherford Plumbing was established in 1996 by Quinton Rutherford & has gained a solid reputation built on professionalism, reliability & good customer relations. We are registered with the Ethekwini Municipality and hold a valid plumbing number (DBNP0624) and contractors number (550). We cover the greater Durban & Highway areas, as well as the KZN north & south coast.

We operate from our own mini-factory in Southgate Business Park with a fully operational administration Office open from 07:30 to 15:30 and are proud of our very low staff turnover. We have 3 employees with over 10years service, 3 over 5 years and the balance have been with us for at least 2 years. Other labour is brought in through a registered labour broker, ensuring that all staff have a clear track record.

Rutherford Plumbing’s customers range from factories & hotels to body corporates & schools. Our services range from geyser installations, bathroom renovations, re-piping and maintenance of domestic & industrial properties to new developments including factories and housing complexes.

Rutherford’s Drain Guru

Rutherford Plumbing offer a high pressure jetting service, clearing storm water & sewer lines. The high pressure jetting machine pumps out 64 litres of water a minute at between 180 & 200 bar through high pressure water jets. It blasts obstacles such as rocks, roots and sand from medium to large diameter storm water & sewer lines, which cannot be cleared with standard plungers & drain rods.

Working hand in hand with our jetting machine is our Rigid drain camera which is a fibre optic cable with a self leveling camera and lens on the end of the cable, filming and recording the inside diameter of any stormwater or sewer pipe or any pipe dia larger than 50mm. The video feature assists feedback to clients on the damages on the line and where it needs to be repaired and is particularly useful in the cases where body corporates are required to report back to owners. The exact location and depth of the damaged pipe is determined with the locater, the NaviTrack Scout. Pinpointing the damages ensures a more cost effective repair job.
